The staff accountant position offers a great opportunity to learn tax and audit in a firm that nurtures new team members. If you enjoy client interaction and have strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills, Bregante is the place for you. We value a commitment to professional advancement, and provide an environment that encourages growth and provides opportunity for advancement. Strong candidates must be working toward passing the CPA exam and fulfilling their Form E- attest experience requirements as soon as possible.

We generally prefer individuals at this level to have a minimum of one year of experience in a public accounting firm. Staff accountants are expected to possess strong analytical skills and are encouraged to take an active role in their education and training.

At Bregante, we believe firmly in a multi-discipline approach to staff training – combining accounting, tax, and audit – because we believe that in order to serve our clients in a manner consistent with our service partnership approach, all of our professionals must be knowledgeable in each of these areas.

As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to learn firm policies and procedures, and become proficient in all aspects of preparing financial statements and income tax returns, including firm standard workpaper preparation, trial balance work, evaluation of general ledger account balances, and recommendation of adjusting journal entries. You will progress to assume responsibility for financial statement compilation, review engagements, and segments of audits under the supervision of more experienced staff members. You will begin to develop a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentation and disclosure, and will obtain a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques. You will become proficient in the use of firm standard software such as Lacerte, Excel, CaseWare, BNA, and Web based resources. You will also become proficient in the preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, fiduciary, and other tax returns prepared by the firm, and will be required to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Bregante is truly a different type of CPA firm. We are committed to maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable working atmosphere, and we offer competitive salaries, flexible hours, and full benefits, including a generous “new client bonus” program for employees who provide client leads and referrals.

Excel in your career with a great group of accountants who take a team approach and value their clients as respected business partners and friends. We look forward to hearing from you.

What kind of firm would you thrive in? At Bregante, the tremendous diversity of clients, transactions, and issues to work on is challenging, exciting, and rewarding. Our firm blends national firm professionalism with opportunities you’ll only find at a mid-size firm such as ours: mentorship, consistent client relationships, room for professional advancement, and experience in accounting, tax, and audit. All things you strive for? Here’s what we’re looking for in a Senior Accountant.

Individuals at this level normally have had a minimum of two (and often three or more) years experience as a staff accountant, have passed the CPA exam, and obtained their CPA attest license. Seniors are expected to possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants on financial statement audit, review, and compilation engagements as well as in the preparation of complex income tax returns.

At Bregante, we believe firmly in a multi-discipline approach to staff training – combining accounting, tax, and audit – because we believe that in order to serve our clients in a manner consistent with our service partnership approach, all of our professionals must be knowledgeable in each of these areas.

As a Senior Accountant, you will be charged with planning and supervising engagements, and working to develop quality client relationships. When assigned to financial statement engagements, you will have a working knowledge of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentation and disclosure. You will be able to prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements with minimum supervision, and you will have a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques. Additionally, you will progress to assume responsibility for efficiently supervising all forms of financial statement engagements, and will be expected to take ownership of these engagements all the way through to the issuance of financial statements to the client.

When assigned to tax engagements, you will become familiar with pertinent Internal Revenue Code sections and regulations, research techniques, and the various research sources available. You will also begin to manage client relationships with supervision, be able to schedule and perform duties with minimum supervision, complete multiple assignments in a timely manner, and develop analytical skills to assist clients in problem resolution. You will be highly proficient in the use of firm standard software such as Lacerte, Excel, CaseWare, BNA, and Web based resources. You will progress to assume responsibility for efficiently supervising all types of tax return preparation engagements and will be expected to take ownership of these engagements all the way through to the delivery of the tax return to the client.

Bregante is truly a different type of CPA firm. We are committed to maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable working atmosphere, and we offer competitive salaries, flexible hours, and full benefits, including a generous “new client bonus” program for employees who provide client leads and referrals.

We’re continually seeking experienced accountants with management ability. If you have solid technical experience and the communication and interpersonal skills to mentor and manage others, we’d like to hear from you.

You must have exhibited technical proficiency, experience supervising complete engagements and the ability to manage client relationships.

At Bregante, we believe firmly in a multi-discipline approach to staff training – combining accounting, tax, and audit – because we believe that in order to serve our clients in a manner consistent with our service partnership approach, all of our professionals must be knowledgeable in each of these areas.

As Manager, you will be highly proficient in accounting and tax, including audit engagements. You will plan, supervise, and complete routine engagements, supervise both staff accountants and seniors, provide feedback to them, and evaluate their progress. You will also be highly proficient at tax research, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm, and assist in firm administrative functions as assigned by the partners.
